Along with painting portraits during the pandemic, a bottle of left-over acrylic ink led me to explore abstraction through automatic mark-making. Whereas my previous artworks may have begun with an object, reference photograph, or pre-thought, these works on paper denote a freer sensibility. These groupings are from 2022 and range in size from 9" x 24", 12" x 18" to 22" x 20".
